Today, my “Blogosphere Tour” takes me to the site of DevotedMommyof3 for a review of Ruby’s World – My Journey with the Zulu.  Liz, the Devoted Mommy in question, has three sons, ages 18, 15 and 9.  She is also the co-owner of Charisma Media.

She says:  “Vivid descriptions of the Congo Basin & Sahara were lovely insights. Karen’s honesty about her trials & errors are what make the book so enjoyable. Her humor about the overabundance of crocodiles near a hotel & the influx of monkeys were hysterical. Yet, she maintains deep emotions as she details her feelings toward gruesome customs & the children’s’ self-esteem. It was as if you could see tear drops on each page. I believe it is a crucial read for those contemplating oversees volunteer work.”  You can read her entire review of Ruby’s World HERE.

As a mom myself – Grandma now, too – it’s poignant to learn about the lives of children in rural KwaZulu-Natal.  My “Blogosphere Tour” post today – Educated vs. Traditional – will give you a window into their world.  You can also see a photo of the kindergarten kids at the Zinti elementary school.
